(ANSA) – PADUA, 12 OCT – They started this morning a
Padua demolition work on the former residence
Serenissima, known in the past also as "bronx of via Anelli" e
closed since 2007, after raising a controversial wall
"anti-pusher" in 2006 by the municipal council of
Around 10.00 am the workers operated a bulldozer that has
started to peel off the first concrete blocks, under the gaze
the councilor for public works, Andrea Micalizzi, and a
hundred citizens, who celebrated the event with a
toast made with prosecco.
The work will go on for about three months and will bring
the demolition of the six buildings that formed the complex;
in their place the new city police station will rise, while the
Municipality will get an abandoned barracks in exchange.
