Argentina needs to "study the financial aspect" of nuclear projects with Russia


VOLGOGRADO, RUSSIA (Sputnik) – Argentina should study the financial aspect of possible nuclear power plant construction projects in cooperation with Russia, Argentine Ambassador to Moscow Ricardo Lagorio said in an interview with Sputnik.

Evgueni Pakermanov, president of the Rusatom Overseas company, a division of the Russian nuclear power corporation Rosatom, previously told Sputnik that Russia and Argentina are studying the option of jointly building low-power floating and also terrestrial nuclear power plants.
"We always cooperate in nuclear energy and its peaceful use, now we have to sit down and study the financial aspect of this (project), we are open to continue cooperating because this is not new, now it is a matter of financial dimension," said Lagorio in answering the question of whether Argentina has decided to participate in these projects.
Lagorio made these statements at the International Public Diplomacy Forum 'Dialogue on the Volga: Peace and Mutual Understanding in the 21st Century' held from October 31 to November 1 the Russian city of Volgograd; The Russian state agency Rossotrudnichestvo is co-organizer of the event.
