"Adria Airways announces that from 23:30 (LT) on September 23, 2019 (GMT + 2) it will temporarily suspend (on Tuesday, September 24 and Wednesday, September 25) all its flight operations to and from all its bases (Ljubljana, Pristina, Tirana), "the company published on its website.
The company that is part of the Star Alliance said the suspension is "a consequence of the unsecured access to the liquidity that the airline needs for future operations."
"At this time, the company actively seeks solutions in cooperation with potential investors. The aim of all those involved is to make Adria Airways fly again and to cease operations temporarily," the note adds.
Established in 1961, the airline has a fleet of 20 aircraft: three Airbus A319, nine Bombardier CRJ900, two Bombardier CRJ700ER and six Saab2000.
This is the third company that announces the suspension of flights so far this month after the French Aigle Azur and the British Thomas Cook.
