Saint Petersburg and region now with free e-visa

From October, citizens of 53 countries, including the EU, will be able to enter the Russian cultural capital of Saint Petersburg and the Leningrad region with a simple online visa.

A request to this effect must be completed on a special website of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs from this Monday.

The visa can be applied for up to four days prior to entry and is valid for 30 days from the date of creation; In Saint Petersburg and the Leningrad region you can spend a total of eight days. Unlike the regular visa, applicants do not have to pay visa fees. However, such a visa does not allow entry to the train for technical reasons for a while yet.

A similar regulation applies for some time for the Kaliningrad region as well as for the Russian Far East. By 2021, Europeans should be able to enter Europe by e-Visa.
