Lastochka train carries out the first international test flight between Petersburg and Finnish Imatra


The Russian "Sinara" group announced on Monday the implementation of the high-speed electric train "Lastochka", the first international test flight, a distance of 198 km, between St. Petersburg and Imatra (Finland).

Moscow – Sputnik. "The travel time was about three hours. The test flight was organized by the Russian railway company and the Finnish transport agency. During the flight, about 60 specialists from the Russian railway as well as the Finnish side were aboard," the group said in a statement.

In this regard, the high-speed electric train Lustochka (Swallow) was built by the Oral Locomotive plant, or as it is in Arabic, the Oral locomotives (the joint venture of the Russian group Sinara and Siemens of Germany).

The Lastochka high-speed electric train is designed with a dual system, to transport passengers to distances of up to 700 kilometers. The trolleys vary in varying degrees, in terms of business and low-cost categories.

The train also has 349 seats, two wheelchair-accessible sites, and an elevator.

The company "Ural locomotives" produced 145 high-speed electric trains, "Lastochka" of various varieties, which were operating in 19 regions of Russia.
